Australian Dust Control
provides shaker dust collector for schools
Australian Dust Control was commissioned by Rose
bank College, a school at Five Dock in Sydney, to install a shaker
dust collector for their woodworking workshop. Australian Dust Control
is recognised as the manufacturer of energy efficient dust collectors
at competitive prices.
Australian Dust Control was able to comply with
the strict criteria that were put forward by the school in their
selection process. For the school, Australian Dust Control designed,
manufactured and installed a shaker dust collector with a 5.5kw
fan.
There were certain constraints that Australian
Dust Control had to work with in their design and installation.
For example, the workshop area at the school allowed only a very
small floor space for the shaker dust collector to be installed.
Also, low noise during the operation of the shaker dust collector
was a requirement so as not to create an impact on nearby classrooms
and neighbouring properties.
Australian Dust Control addressed these problems
by designing a compact shaker dust collector which was fitted with
an acoustic enclosure, therefore minimising any noise during the
operation of the dust collector.
The woodworking workshop at the school consisted
of 7 machines including a lathe, a bench saw, spindle as well as
various other saws. The waste produced during the operation of these
machines discharges directly from the shaker dust collector to an
80 litre waste bin.
Australian Dust Control is expanding its installation
of dust collector systems into many schools around Australia. The
dust collector, with its flexible design and wide range of options,
is able to meet the strict OH&S regulations.
